Q Chat The product thesis
Serve people seeking platonic friendship, community, practical collaboration and local exchange. Start with purpose-led text conversations, then evaluate richer discovery and optional AI experiences. The opportunity is a product hypothesis; validated market size, retention and conversion are not yet published.
Evidence of progress
An established Android package, com.q.qchat, has an earlier Google Play distribution history. The listing was observed at 50K+ historical downloads on September 20, 2026. This is cumulative distribution across earlier releases—not active users, revenue or adoption of the developing beta.
Technical work
Flutter app, Rust service foundations, a temporary Supabase beta path, text moderation boundaries, account deletion and reporting flows. The beta is hosted and not end-to-end encrypted. Broader discovery and device-hosted architecture work remains outside the current beta experience.
What the next milestone needs
Complete release acceptance and testing, measure onboarding and delivery reliability, collect structured user feedback, and evaluate the cost and quality of responsible AI. Funding priorities are product development, testing, infrastructure and safety operations. A detailed budget should be agreed against the proposed scope.
